Create Your Own Joy: An Intro to Easy Home DIY Projects
Share
At Joy on Tap, we love a craft project!
We can spend hours scrolling through Pinterest looking for ways to create something we need or love without spending any extra money.
Our Create Joy series will be full of DIY craft ideas and How-To Guides for bringing beauty into your home.
The guides will all be fairly easy and not require specialist equipment. We'll be digging into our large scrap fabric stash and random craft supplies for these projects.
And also be making use of some things that other people consider to be rubbish.
We hope that as you explore our creations, this will spark creative ideas of your own to alter our suggestions for what your project needs.
Check out our Pinterest board for more DIY ideas.
Some of the projects we have lined up this Autumn:
- Picture frames
- Storage boxes
- Memory journal ideas
- Pen pots
- Bookmarks
- Christmas...
- And much more!
The kind of simple supplies you'll need:
- Cardboard (save from your next online delivery)
- Fabric (from your stash or old clothes)
- Paint (from your craft cupboard or leftover tester pots)
- Strong PVA glue/glue gun
- Scrap paper/brown paper
- String or ribbon
And once we've gathered our supplies, it's time for...
Joyful Crafting
Our first project will be DIY picture frames - perfect for small budgets or awkward shaped art.
All you'll need is cardboard, fabric or paint, glue and some household equipment, for example, scissors and a ruler.
They are so simple to make but make such a great statement for your wall - the frame becomes part of the picture.
Here's a little sneak peak of our first creations.
And as you jump into your first creations (with us) remember, there are no bad ideas or failed craft projects - it's all just part of the creative process.
Sometimes things don't work out, and this gives us the data and experience we need for getting to the best final result.
Maybe we'll show you some of our fails along the way! 😉
And you can show us your successes...
